Date: July 10, 2000 From: Herbie Vaghela To: Penny Pincher Subject: British Relevance Dear Joel, Your book is excellent. However, it's orientated to the U.S. markets. Do you have any advice for a British citizen who is a regular international traveler (i.e., me). Thank you for your assistance. Herbie.
Hi Herbie, Thanks for the compliment on my book. You are right the book is mainly focused on the US marketplace, however, the techniques that I espouse--how to deal with people, whom to speak with, and general travel planning--are universal. Additionally, if you're traveling to the States often you will find the advice very helpful. Lastly, the main advice I have for the European markets is to seek at the highest-level person in authority when requesting an upgrade. Most employees in the European culture will be very reluctant to offer a complimentary upgrade without approval from a higher authority. I hope this helps. Joel |
