Date: Jul 15 1999 From: Chuck McGhee To: Penny Pincher Subject: Frequent Flier Miles Dear Penny Pincher, I have always booked my airfare on the lowest price carrier. As a result I have frequent flier miles on a number of carriers, but not enough to earn awards certificates. What should I do? --Chuck Hi Chuck. I recommend you do some research. Look at what airline you hold the most miles with, what airline you can earn an elite status with, and what airline will best serve your needs. Once you identify them, begin to fly consistently with that carrier. Very often if you call the marketing department of that airline and let them know that they are going to be your preferred carrier, you can immediately acquire the first level of their elite status program. -- Joel
