Date: December 25, 1999 From: Stan B To: Penny Pincher Subject: Passports Dear Joel, As a Canadian traveler wishing to holiday somewhere in the Caribbean, or any warmer climate, what am I limited to without a current passport?
Thanks,
Hi Stan, As a Canadian citizen without a passport, desiring a warm climate to travel to this winter, you are limited to the U.S., the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. You will need a birth certificate or a proof of citizenship and valid photo identification such as a driver license. However, beware that with the heightened security concern these days, lacking a passport, you might have to be a little more patient with customs officials.
Have a good time.
