Date: April 17, 2000 From: Kathy Lynch To: Penny Pincher Subject: Transferring Frequent Flyer Miles to Someone Else Dear Joel, My son was just offered a free flight by his employer using the employer frequent flyer miles. How does this work, since your driver license has to match the person on the ticket? Please help, I don't understand how this process takes place and my son wants to use them this weekend.
Hi Kathy, This is a good question with a simple solution. All you need to do is have your son employer make the reservation in your son name and tell the airline that he would like to use his miles for a free award ticket. The air miles will be taken from the employers account and a ticket will be issued in your son name.
Good travels,
