Date: Sep 17 1999 From: Paul R. To: Penny Pincher Subject: Travel to Asia Is travel to Asia still a good deal?
Paul, Yes, indeed it is. Asia is still recovering from its economic slump and there are some special deals as a result. Recently, I have come across a few, including one by Northwest Airlines: when you purchase a business-class fare for travel to Asia, you will automatically receive an upgrade to first class. This is a great deal for the business traveler whose company will normally pay for only a business-class fare. There are also hotel specials offered by The Westin and Shangri-La hotels: The Westin's "Westin Asia ValueStays" allows for a discount of up to 55% with advance booking. For more information, call 800-937-8461. The Shangri-La Hotel chain is offering a savings of up to 40% at its thirty-five hotels and resorts in China and Southeast Asia. There are bound to be many good travel bargains available while Asia is in recovery. As always, contact your chosen travel partners and ask them what specials they are offering. And don't forget to ask for the upgrade!
Sincerely,
|
