Date: Oct 22 1999 From: J.J. To: Penny Pincher Subject: VISA/Transfering Miles Dear Penny Pincher, Do you know of any VISA cards that offer frequent flyer miles which can be transfered to the airline of your choice (in my case, Delta)? I already have Diners and American Express. Thanks, J.J.
Dear J.J., As of this time, I am not aware of a VISA card that offers "transferable miles" to the airline of your choice. However, one card of noteworthy interest is the VISA Signature card (1st USA Bank, 888-467-5011). This card offers an array of benefits for travelers, including the accumulation of air miles, lost luggage reimbursement, travel emergency service, travel accident insurance, auto rental insurance, and a summary, year-end statement useful for tax purposes. The limiting factor of this card is that the air miles cannot be transferred into an airline frequent flyer account; otherwise it looks like a solid card with good travel benefits. Will keep looking. --Joel
