"And we began to understand, like everyone else who has become attached to Provence, that there is no place on earth like it. No one can possibly prepare you for this consistently ethereal level of beauty. Not any book, movie or essay. Not these words. No painting. No where else do you find such a confluence of pellucid air, fierce sun, ravishing smells and tastes, and grace."
—From the Introduction, by Richard Goodman
